What is Period After Opening (PAO) Symbol?

How many beauty products do you have in your bathroom cabinet?  If  you start counting, you may realize that there are more beauty products that you have completely forgotten about it. Makeup and skincare are not cheap. Therefore, it is hard sometimes to throw away beauty products  that you have spent a fortune on.  Have you ever heard about a symbol called “Period After Opening” or PAO?

We can find Period After Opening on most of the labels of your cosmetics. It indicates the shelf life of that cosmetics product from the first time it has been opened. Continue using a beauty product when it is past its shelf life could cause an infection. Therefore, we should look for the PAO symbol before start using any cosmetics. In addition, it is good to have general idea about the shelf life of each type of product.
